I remember the struggle trying to get this image.

The sea was strong, continuously pulling at me, at my tripod. The wind was gusting, making it hard to get the right balance of sharpness and blur that captured how I felt. The elements forced me to be minimal but tenacious at the same time.

And somehow it worked. Somehow it all came together.

Thankfully so. As all of the locals and visitors to this stretch of beach know that this pier is no more, taken by Hurricane Sandy, and is now just a memory.
